What gets tested before a TV visit ends

A show plays, the volume works, and you know which input is which.

We select the source you will use tonight and play something. A blue menu is not a test. If the player is a disc, have a disc. If it is an app, the password needs to be available.
No-signal screens get the cable reseated and the correct HDMI port, the one that supports ARC if a soundbar is in the chain.
Sound
Volume should move from the remote you intend to keep on the table. If that remote cannot run the bar, we either program it or we show you the bar's remote and write that down. Silent success is a failed test.
Surround visits add a level check from the seat. A bar visit does not pretend to be surround.
The note
You get a short list: which input, which cable, what not to unplug. That list is what a later online streaming session starts from.
If a device you wanted connected was in another room, we do not guess. Tell us the list when you book.
