A strip for one desk. Not a whole-home protector, and not a reason to daisy-chain.
Who it is for
The 8-outlet surge strip is for a media console or a desk that has more bricks than wall outlets. It keeps power bricks off the carpet and gives the setup a single switch you understand.
It is not a whole-home surge system. We will not describe it as one. If you want protection for the service panel, that is an electrician's product, not this strip.
How to use it
Do not chain strips. Do not put a space heater on it. The router and modem can live on a strip that stays on, so a tidy shutdown of the game console does not kill the internet.
During a computer or TV setup we label which brick is which. The strip is part of that tidy, not the star.
Replace it
Strips age. If the indicator the maker provided says it is done, replace the strip. A dead protector is just a splitter.
