Scan, remove, and a short list of habits. Not a promise that no one can ever phish you.
The work
A virus and malware visit scans, removes unwanted software, and cleans the browser. We look at what launched at startup. We do not install a second, third, and fourth antivirus beside the one you already have.
If the computer will not boot, say that when you book. A scan assumes we can reach the desktop or a recovery screen.
Accounts
If you typed a password into a page you did not mean to trust, change that password from a phone on cellular data after the computer is clean. Start with mail, then the bank. We watch the steps. We do not take the new password.
Two-factor prompts are yours to approve. A visit cannot bypass your bank.
After
The notes list what was removed. If the same pop-up returns the next day, reply with that note so the follow-up starts from facts.
A reinstall is the next step only when removal does not hold. That is a longer visit and we say so before we erase anything.
