Why labels

Power bricks look alike. The router brick in the laptop bag is how a trip starts with a dead computer. During setup we label the laptop brick, the monitor, and the dock.

HDMI and power should not share a mystery knot. A short velcro strap and a label take longer to describe than to do.

What we leave

You get a short note: which port the printer uses, which strip is safe to switch off at night, and which box must stay on for Wi-Fi. The router is not on the switched strip.

Spare cables go in one bag. Unlabeled spares become tomorrow's junk drawer.

Photograph the back of the desk before a move. The photo plus labels is enough for a new-home setup to rebuild the desk without guessing.

If a cable is in the wall, that is a different job. Desk setup does not open drywall.
