The computer sees the printer, and nothing prints

A stuck queue or a wrong default tray looks like a dead printer.
The queue
Open the queue and cancel every document. A single paused job from a month ago blocks the line. Restart the computer after the queue is empty, then print a short test.
If the panel on the printer can print a status page, the printer's engine works. The remaining problem is the path from the computer.
The driver
Two copies of the same printer in the list, one of them offline, cause pages to vanish into the offline copy. Set the online one as default and remove the ghost if you are sure it is a duplicate.
A new operating system sometimes needs the current driver, not the disc in the original box. We install the current one during a troubleshooting visit when that is the gap.
Supplies and jams
A printer that sees the job and then errors is often paper or ink, not Wi-Fi. Read the panel. A blinking page icon is a jam even if you cannot see the paper yet.
We do not rebuild a printer that needs a part we do not have. The note will say if replacement is the honest next step.
